Hi There!

Just wondering how much upper body strength is needed for kite boarding? I'm interested in getting lessons but as a 115 lb girl, I'm wondering if it's a practical sport for me?

Hey dude,
for the longest time I've wanted to try kite surfing and this summer I think I'm finally gonna do it. Reading blogs like yours is making me even more stoked. I've been looking up kites on Craigslist, but as you pointed out I'll need to start out with a trainer kite. I'll be in Vancouver this summer and if the offer to lend out your trainer still stands I'd like to take you up on it or even buy it off you. Cheers!

ryanwarden at gmail dot com

You will have a great time; Cabarete is a hoot. I stayed at some Swedes place a few paces from the beach. He had a great rigging lawn and was paces from the water just a few minutes stroll from the bars. The schnitzel place across the street from the beach is very good.

If you want a bit of a break from the Cabarete scene, head out to Las Galeras on the Samana Pennisula. Santo Domingo is always good if you are up for an urban adventure.

"J",

You are a moron. Nitinat is far from a secret spot. What a joke. I was sailing there 15 years ago and it was still packed. It's also a crappy spot. There are many, many better places. Get out there and explore a bit.
